Playground Inspiration

Weight Watcher

Mrs.  Rhonda is one of the 25,000 Weight Watchers

Jane Nidetch was a 214-pound housewife. She was desperate to lose weight. After two steady months of dieting, she was still 50 pounds overweight. So she invited six overweight friends to her house to share her diet and talk about how to stay on it.

Today, 28 years later, one million members attend 25,000 Weight Watchers’ meetings in 24 countries every week.

Mrs. Nidetch says she got her inspiration to help people take control of their lives, from a childhood incident. As a teenager she used to walk past a playground. Mothers brought kids there to play, and then they would get so deep in gossip that they completely forgot about the children. The toddlers sat on their swings, but no one was giving them a push start. So she gave each of them a push. And you know what happens after that: the swinger starts pumping and swinging by himself.

“That’s what my role in this weight watching has been,” says Mrs Nidetch, “I’m here to give others a push start.”

MEET THE BABY THAT WAS BORN TWICE

This story tells you a lot about the hypocrisy and falsehood of abortion justifications. Many think and preach that embryos and fetuses are not humans and hence can be terminated at will, but the evidence is so clear that the denial can be baffling. Our help is in God. http://edition.cnn.com/2016/10/20/health/baby-born-twice-fetal-surgery/index.html?sr=fbCNN102116baby-born-twice-fetal-surgery1143AMStoryLink&linkId=30195463

Brace for Impact!

28 05 2013

A rich man who survived a plane crash was invited to talk to an audience about that experience. He said, “Just before the plane crashed, I realized what the truly important things in my life were. My wife! I wished I had treated her better. I wanted to apologize for all my meanness, and my son; I wished I could turn back the clock and spend more time with him. My billions meant nothing to me then. Then the pilot said three words I would never forget: Brace for impact!”

It is clear that all our achievements are worth nothing in the grave. We must prepare for the afterlife. Our true home is not the 80 years of “room and board” we spend on earth but rather the eternity that begins once we die. Death is the beginning; the beginning of an eternal life, the beginning of an unending love affair with Love itself, God. God is love, all the love we experience on earth is but a speck in the universe of God’s love. Eyes have not seen nor ears heard what God has prepared for those who love him says the scriptures. But the only way we will love God in heaven is if we loved him on earth. That’s the catch. Heaven Love is bought with earth’s toils.

We must begin to love God here in this life. God cannot fulfill something that does not even exist. If there is no beginning of love for God in our hearts here on earth, then there can be no fruition of love in eternity. That indeed is why God has placed us here upon the earth: so that, by loving him, we may lay the necessary foundation for the happiness of heaven.
