Hero Priest: Fr Emil Kaupon

Story of Fr Emil Kaupon,hero of the Korean war. Fall of 1954, 1million Chinese troops crossed the 22nd Parallel and overwhelming the US army fighting in South Korea, took them prisoner. A Chinese soldier put his gun on the head of an injured marine about to pull the trigger. A priest walked up and pushed the gun away, picked up the injured soldier, put him on his shoulders and walked away. At the POW camp, the priest helped the men stay alive by giving them his own food, encouraging the hopeless, curing the sick. He was murdered by the Chinese. But on release, his men swore that history will never forget what this priest had done. The pressed the US government to award him the congressional medal of honor.
